David Eddy is a self-taught contemporary artist. His art career began when a well-known artist saw some of his crayon and chalk drawings, encouraged him to paint and supplied him with materials. He has developed a devoted following and has exhibited throughout the U.S. Mr. Eddy's paintings are full of raw energy and passion, with a naive sophistication The New York Times described as "notably reminiscent of Paul Klee."
David Eddy was born in Troy, NY in 1949. He grew up in Mahwah, NJ, attending Mahwah High School, Kimball Union Academy, and Lehigh University. He was a self-employed roofing contractor for 25 years, spending winters surfing in Barbados and the Caribbean Islands. He now lives in Warwick, NY, with his wife, Judy and their son, Brian.
