Born in 1943, Alyne Harris has spent most of her life in Florida. A self-taught African-American artist, Ms. Harris has painted obsessively for most of her adult life, with most of her paintings reflecting childhood memories. She has an inate sense of color and composition and enjoys interpreting the landscape of Florida, as well as Wisconsin, where she spent part of her youth. Her favorite subjects include people at church, angels and scenes from everyday life. |
